We enjoyed our first cooking class so much we decided to do it again. This time we chose a class set on an organic farm. The day started with a trip to a market where we got to try some interesting fruit (I still don't know the name) and see some crazy things. I still don't understand why they put pig heads on display next to the meat stall. Wouldn't a sign be just as effective?
These little piggies went to market

After the market we headed out into the countryside and got a tour of the organic farm before starting on our menu preparation. The highlight of the menu was definitely the spring rolls which we learned how to roll and fry. It was really quite easy and we were pleased that the end result really did look like spring rolls. We also made some green curry, a stir-fry, a hot & sour shrimp soup, and bananas in coconut milk.
Our Creations

When we were making the soup the instructor gave the instruction to take the shrimp, pull the heads off, and put them in the soup. When most of us started to set the heads aside as garbage she quickly clarified that we were supposed to throw the heads in the soup. The things you do for flavor when Knorr is not available...
