La Paz Round 2

La Paz, Bolivia

It`s always nice to return to the familiar even if it is the steep twisty lung-deflating cobblestone streets of the witches market.

Our return to the city from Coroico did not start on a good note. Mary wanted to stop for Orange Juice (her second favorite street vendor treat) but I wanted to get back to our hotel as quickly as possible. When we crossed the street to catch a taxi Mary tripped while attempting to step onto the sidewalk and her nose was about a centimeter from impacting with the concrete. Luckily her hands, knees and ankle broke the fall before her face reached the ground. It is clearly much safer to bike on the death road than walk down the sidewalks of La Paz. Next time we`ll stop for orange juice.

We spent our second time in La Paz visiting our favorite restaurant, checking out the local stalls and admiring the artistry of the textiles and handicrafts here. Mary also got numerous opportunities to enjoy her most favorite vendor street treat (popcorn).
