Good Morning Vietnam

Hanoi - Vietnam

We've spent the last week in Hanoi enjoying numerous iced Vietnamese coffees (strong coffee, ice, sweetened condensed milk). Mary's favorite coffee beverage is actually a glass of iced plain yoghurt topped off with about half a shot of espresso.

While here we successfully obtained our Thai visas for up to 3 months so there are no more barriers to volunteering with YWAM in January.

Two things really stand out about Hanoi. The traffic is crazy and the smog is unlike anything we've seen before. Here are the pictures to prove it.

This is an uncontrolled high traffic star-shaped intersection that just wouldn't fly in Canada.

No, that's not snow that's the reflection of the flash off the smog found throughout Hanoi.

On Wednesday we leave on a 3 day boat tour of Halong Bay. We'll be sleeping on a Junk (type of boat not condition of room), kayaking, and just enjoying the amazing scenery. You'll have to check out the pictures in our next blog.
