We arrived safely in Cancun on Sunday afternoon and quickly discovered that we weren´t really prepared for sweltering heat. Temperatures range between low 30s to a not very cool 25 at night. Since places with air conditioning tend to be out of our budget we are not sleeping really well at night. We´re doing our best to make up for it by snoozing on the beach.
After 2 nights in Cancun we headed out to the Isla Mujeres (Island of Women) . Life on the island is much more laid back and agreeable. The Caribbean sea is so beautiful and surprisingly warm.
We don´t intend to be beach bums forever. We´ll head south along the coast towards Belize throughout this week with a couple stops along the way to check out some Mayan ruins.
