Vancouver Island Adventures

We are back in Vancouver after a week on the island.  We admired the beaches, devoured great seafood, played frisbee in the park and learned that reservations are a requirement for Tofino in August if you don't want to sleep in the car.  Since our van is still in the shop until tomorrow we rented a car for a few days and drove out to Tofino.  We arrived there around 7 and there was no vacancy anywhere in town.  We thought, oh well, we'll just head back down the road to Ucluelet about 40km down the road and find something there.  We couldn't believe there was nothing available on a Wednesday night in either town! We spent the night in our rented Toyota Corolla parked by a trailhead (complete with Port-a-Potties) on the edge of town.  Travelling is always an adventure.
