Coban - We arrived in Coban this afternoon after a grueling 140km trip. That´s not bad you say comparing it to a jaunt to Red Deer from Edmonton. We left our hostel at 6 this morning and rolled into town at 2pm. The majority of time was spent crammed into the buses we talked about and the last 4 hours were spent on muddy, winding, bumpy, mountain roads with spectacular views and sheer precipices just off the shoulder. We are happy to be here. We have a nice place to stay and had a great meal to cheer us up and settle our stomachs.
Tomorrow we meet with people from Impact ministries who are headquartered in Tactic not far from here. Impact ministries is primarily focused on Education as there are approx 1500 school age kids in the surrounding area and only 500 spots in the public system. The ministry has experienced significant growth and is struggling with accounting and reporting bottlenecks. This is what we are hoping to work on.
